Dimapur, Aug. 24 (EMN): Livingstone Foundation International College at Thahekhu/ Kevijau was inaugurated on August 24 in presence of the director of Higher Education, Dr. Apeni Lotha, who also unveiled the inaugural stone.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Apeni Lotha lauded the chairman and the school for the many achievements and expressed confidence that the college would grow fast and successfully. She also congratulated the chairman for the splendid set of college faculty led by Dr. RK Behera and reminded the students that they are truly lucky to be part of the institute, an update from the college stated on Tuesday.

She further expressed admiration for the college’s vision “To be architects of a golden tomorrow by giving rise to generations of thought leaders.” She further made a donation towards the college library.

In his welcome address, the college’s principal Dr. RK Behera made a brief introduction of the college.

“We are creating history today and we will remember this day forever. Today is the humble beginning of a great future,” Dr. Behera said. He further encouraged the students to be always ready for change especially with the NEP 2020 in motion.

The college chairman, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema delivered a brief history of Livingstone Foundation International, which was set up in 1988 with 52 students. He also highlighted the need of building a better education system for students so that they might not only grow up with textual knowledge but grow up to be doers and achievers in every field.

He further emphasised on the importance of making Nagaland an epicentre for education and urged government as well as private colleges and schools in Nagaland to have a symbiotic relationship in order to help the state produce good citizens, who would in turn change the society.

Chairman of Kevijau village and president of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), Vimeyieko Vitso, also spoke on the occasion.

The programme was led by Sashirenla Millier, while the invocation prayer was said by Dr. Tainla Mar and the pastor of Thahekhu Village Baptist Church, Mughabeto K Zimo, led in the special prayer.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the director of Livingstone Foundation International, Ani Yepthomi.
