Little Star student bags Best Actor award at Science Drama competition
DIMAPUR — Limnuker Jamir of Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, won the Best Actor award at the North-East Zonal Science Drama Competition 2023–24.
According to a press release, the school, under the aegis of department of Science and Technology, represented Nagaland at the event, which took place at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati, on November 24.
The school was chosen to represent Nagaland after winning the State Level Science Drama Competition in October. Nagaland was represented by a team of ten members, which included seven stage artists (school students), two teachers, and an official from the department.
Assam was named the Best Drama Team, with Tripura coming in second.
The Science Drama Competition is an annual event held across the country with the primary goal of showcasing juvenile artistic creativity and utilising drama as a powerful tool for dealing with socio-scientific issues of current importance in society.
The competition starts at the state level, then moves on to the zonal level, and finally to the national level, i.e., the National Science Drama Festival (NSDF), which is organised and managed by the National Council of Science Museums.
