Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): Lions Club of Dimapur (LCD) celebrated ‘50k Covid vaccination’ milestone achievement in its conference hall on January 21.

Speaking on the occasion, the district immunisation officer Dr. Rebecca Zhimomi congratulated the club for reaching a milestone and added that the club has always extended support and cooperation not only in Covid vaccinating but also during the measles vaccination in the year 2018 and in other medical programmes and activities.

Stating that around 5 lakh doses have been vaccinated, Dr. Rebecca informed that this feat would have not been possible without the help from the Lions Club Dimapur. She also lauded all civil society organisations who have worked tirelessly along with the medical department in reaching out to the public.

She further sought support towards the medical department even in the days to come.

Short speech was also delivered by medical officer Dr. Lima.

In their speeches, LCD president Vikas Maheshwari and secretary Ankit Jain credited the administration, medical department and police for their support in achieving the milestone.

On the occasion, five volunteers namely Newmai, Prabir Das, Nilmoni Das, Rinku Roy and Eshak were also felicitated for their tireless support and efforts in reaching out to the masses. The Covid vaccination drive started on April 12, 2020.
