Liangmai Baptist Pastors Council celebrates silver jubilee
DIMAPUR — The Liangmai Baptist Pastor’s Council (LBPC) under Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA) celebrated its silver jubilee on September 24 and the 25th under the banner ‘Good shepherd’ at Liangmai Baptist Phumling, New Jalukie with Dr. Hiazuheing Ndang, pastor of DEF Peren as the resource person.
In his message, Dr. Ndang said that the ‘good shepherd’ that believers learnt from the life ministry of Jesus Christ has the qualities of love, care and sacrifice, a DIPR report stated.
He said that the image of the shepherd is used to describe Jesus’ role in several activities during his ministry.
He emphasised that a good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep and has to be out in front of the flock and in the midst of the flock. The pastor went on to affirm that a shepherd should be one who is trustworthy, having a sacrificial mind and keeping relations with his sheep with visionary leadership.
The celebration resolved to organise tour programme to the Holy Land as an when the world situation becomes normal, and also to strengthen the fellowship of the churches by spreading the words of God.
The celebration also witnessed unanimous selection of new office bearers for the tenure 2024 to 2026, with pastor Kaininglung Nzau selected as the president of LBPC, pastor Kairidin of Jalukie town as secretary and pastor Tunchapbo of Ntu Baptist Church as treasurer.
The 25th anniversary of Liangmai Baptist Pastor’s Council was organised under the presidentship of Amos Zeliang, pastor Peren town.
LBA president Amos Zeliang, also expressed gratitude to all the pastors and their church members for their cooperation during his tenure as the president of the LBPC and enabling to the celebration of the jubilee.
