DIMAPUR — Li-Ning 46th Inter District and State Badminton Championship, hosted by Nagaland Police and sponsored by Li-Ning, commenced at NAPTC, Chümoukedima on Tuesday.
A total of 186 players including 125 males and 61 females from 14 districts including Nagaland Police are taking part in the championship which will continue till August 2, a DIPR report stated.
The number of teams participating from each district are Chümoukedima -13, Dimapur – 15, Kiphire – 4, Kohima – 22, Longleng – 11, Mokokchung- 22, Mon – 11, Nagaland Police -7, Niuland – 10, Peren – 18, Phek- 16, Shamator – 9, Tseminyu -16, Wokha – 3 and Zunheboto – 9.
The championship will witness senior and junior categories, men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles and junior boys and girls U-19 singles and doubles.
