Letter to Government on Revocation of “No Entry Zone Vis-A-Vis Alternative Entry Zone Diversion Along the National Highway at Various Entry Point at Dimapur Town

The undersigned signatories representing the members of the Dimapur District Truck Drivers Welfare Trade Union (hereafter referred to as DDTDWTU) and Dimapur District Truck Owners Association (hereafter referred as DDTOA)hereby take the opportunity in highlighting some of the few problems faced by the members of the DDTDWTU & DDTOA.

That Sir, the DDTDWTU and DDTOA are registered Union/Association vide Govt Regd. No -LBR/TECH/61-2013 AND Govt Regd. No SRC/HOME/RNW/143/2015, having its proper office at Burma Camp near BSI Building and Golaghat Road near Amar Mill Dimapur respectively. That, the office of the DDTDWTU & DDTOA having similar aims and objectives had agreed to form a Co-ordination Committee considering the indispensable role complementing each other, and thus a” Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) was signed and dully registered by a Notary vide Regd. No- 1120/15 dated 09/06/2015.

That, the DDTDWTU & DDTOA has on numerous occasions come out publicly denouncing the illegal taxation collected by different ,anion/association from its members at various entry point in the state only commercial city.

That, the DDTDWTU & DDTOA has on many occasion appealed the District Administration Concern to provide proper designated parking for truckers within the premises of Dimapur town like that of other allied transporters. such as Buses, Taxis, Auto Rickshaw etc.

That, the DDTDWTU & DDTOA have been and are pro-actively working and assisting the law enforcing agencies and Govt. as and when required for such services.

That, the DDTDWTU & DDTOA has silently bore/abide by step motherly treatment meted to its members by way of enforcing the “ No Entry Zone” at every entrance to the commercial city from 9:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M at Dimapur, considering the traffic convenience/congestion of the major populace, has suffered innumerable decline to health and monetary losses to its members and also at times of emergencies/mechanical breakdown and so on, owing to mentioned restriction.

That, the DDTDWTU & DDTOA whose primary objective are to protect the interest and work for the welfare of its members. Hereby, put forth the following points for favour of your kind immediate intervention and action thereof :-

1. Revocation of “ No Entry Zone” for heavy vehicle entering Dimapur through the National Highway. or Alternate entry and out way diversion during the period of enforcement of “ No Entry Zone” at the State Commercial Capital. 2. Security detailment for the protection and safety of vehicles and Drivers from unwanted / anti social elements during the odd/wee hour working system. 3. To provide Rest House, and such basic Human amenities such as Restroom, First-Aid medical facilities, Drinking Water facilities, along the various ‘ No Entry Zone’ location.

However, on the contrary, the authority concern fails to consider the just and legitimate rights of the aggrieved members, the undersigned appeal that your competent authority may issue necessary directive /order allowing the aggrieved parties/applicant to set-up and maintain truckers rest house at

Every “NO ENTRY ZONE’ location at Dimapur. For which act of yours, the undersigned shall ever remain grateful to you.
