Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): As part of the winter relief campaign, the Leo Club of Dimapur reached out to 250 needy people in Dimapur and distributed warm cloths, which was initiated from December 20 to the 30th.
The winter relief campaign was initiated by Leo Clubs across five Asian countries which was carried out from December 20 to the 30th. An update from Leo Club Dimapur stated that a total of 59 clubs from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan have participated in the campaign organised jointly by Leo Club of Dimapur (Dist. 322D), Leo Club of Gauhati Girls (Dist. 322G) and Leo Club of Moratuwa (Dist. 306 A1).
The aim of the winter relief campaign was to identify people, who are in need of warm cloths. It added that Leo Clubs from across five Asian countries collected old warm cloths from their own households as well as from their near and dear ones for distribution to thousands of poor people on the streets especially during winters.
It stated that a total of 4854 people were benefited through the winter relief drive. In Dimapur, a total of 258 Leo volunteers were engaged in the distribution of relief materials.
The campaign was undertaken on the motto ‘Insaniyat’ (Hands to serve, hearts to love), the statement read.
