LEH destroys seized liquor in Wokha

Wokha, Dec. 11 (EMN): A total of 36 bottles of Old Monk Rum seized by the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) during the night bazaar in November, as part of Tokhu Emong celebration in Wokha town were destroyed on December 10 in the presence of  women leaders from the various colonies.

The seized items included quarter and half-size bottles of Old Monk Rum.

Meanwhile, the LEH has discouraged the idea of making and selling local wines in Wokha town during festivals as it contain harmful chemical.

Later, the empty bottles were safely disposed of by the LEH officials.

The last batch of illegal seized liquor items were destroyed on April 17 at Wokha police station by a joint team of destruction committee.
