Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): The last state-sponsored special Shramik train reached Dimapur railway station from Delhi, at around 12.22 pm on Tuesday, carrying 580 stranded citizens. Seven special trains were sponsored by the state government to ferry stranded citizens to Nagaland.
The last special train departed from Delhi at 6.30 pm on June 14 ,covering a distance of 2147 km.
On arrival, the bureaucrat in-charge of Covid-19 related activities in Dimapur, Y Kikheto Sema; Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Anoop Khinchi; Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo and other officials welcomed the returnees.
Sema, in his brief address, said that this was the last of the seven special trains arranged by the government of Nagaland.
Sema also appealed to the returnees to have patience as they undergo institutional quarantine.
Likewise, he asked them to raise concerns and issues with the appropriate officers-in-charge at the respective quarantine centres, and not to opt for other ways.
It may be mentioned that the first Shramik special train reached Nagaland on May 22 from Chennai carrying 1320 stranded citizens of the state.
