DIMAPUR — To assess the progress of ongoing projects, the department of Land Resources held a review meeting on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana–Watershed Development Component-2.0 (PMKSY-WDC 2.0) and other schemes at the Resource Centre in Ruzaphema on September 26.
An update from the department stated that Albert Ngullie, director of Land Resources, welcomed all the participants and highlighted in brief the departmental activities and the achievements of PMKSY-WDC 2.0 and other schemes implemented by the department.
In his keynote address, the commissioner and secretary of Land Resources, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, mentioned that the department, being a performing department, should continue to keep with the pace. He urged everyone not to just implement the project activities but to work on a mission mode for the benefit of the community.
The advisor of Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi, shared his insights and stressed that equal importance should also be given for the welfare of human resources of the department besides implementation of the programme.
Stating that due attention should also be given to the welfare of the officers and staff of the department, he urged the administrative and directorate heads to ensure a system for acknowledging outstanding performing officers and staff of the department.
He reiterated on the importance of promoting team work in order to make tangible achievements. He further emphasised that whatever activities or schemes they implement should be quantifiable saying, “We should have measurable achievements and be outcome oriented.”
The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Hekato N, additional director of Land Resources. He expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and contributions for the success of the meeting.
The inaugural programme was followed by powerpoint presentations from 15 districts on the progress of implementation of the works in their respective districts.
