La Ganesan to visit all districts of Manipur and hold discussions

Imphal, Sep. 21 (EMN): Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Wednesday virtually interacted with all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Manipur.
During interaction, the governor enquired about law and order situations and other major issues in all the districts of Manipur.
He said, the main purpose of his visits to districts and all assembly constituencies is to know the issues and grievances faced by the people and interact with them to know their issues pertaining to their welfare.
The governor said that representatives of local bodies, Civil Society Organisations and district level officers should be present during the meetings so that grievances and appropriate steps to address the same can be taken up while adding that the MLAs of respective constituencies should also be invited to attend the meetings.
Emphasising the need to eradicate Tuberculosis, the governor asked the DCs to take appropriate steps in this regard while informing that the centre has set 2025 as the target of eradicating TB, some years ahead of the target set by World Health Organisation.
He requested all stakeholders to work together towards meeting the target.
‘Although, COVID-19 is going out, we should be very careful and appropriate behaviours should be followed’, he added.
Earlier, the DCs made brief accounts on law and order and other major issues in their respective districts. No major law and order issues were reported except with some minor issues in Bishnupur, Kakching, Jiribam and Ukhrul districts. They also informed the governor about the arrangements which are being made for his proposed visits to their districts in the coming months.
