La Ganesan sworn in as 21st Governor of Nagaland
La Ganesan was sworn-in as the 21st Governor of Nagaland on Monday.
La Ganesan was administered the oath by Justice Songkhupchung Serto of Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, at Dr. Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan, in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues, state chief secretary, director general of police and a host of senior officials of the state.
Ganesan succeeded Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, the Governor of Assam, who was also holding additional charge of Nagaland from September 17, 2021.
Ganesan had earlier served as the Governor of Manipur from August 27, 2021, and also served additionally as the Governor of West Bengal from July 18, 2022, to November 17, 2022.
The Governor’s itinerary on Monday included Darshan at Mandir, visit to 1st Assam Rifles, followed by laying of wreaths at the World War II Cemetery in Kohima.
