DIMAPUR — The 50th anniversary celebration of the Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) officially began on November 1 with a solemn dedication prayer for jubilee programme led by catechist Neikholie Mor.
An update from KYO informed that the milestone event, marking five decades of youth unity and community spirit, would take place from December 17 to the 21st at Kiruphema ground.
The celebration would feature a wide array of events such as traditional wrestling, games and athletic competitions from eight peer groups comprising over 700 participants. It added that the event promised to be a vibrant showcase of sportsmanship, teamwork and cultural pride, attracting the local community and neighbouring areas.
It informed that the inaugural ceremony would be attended by Salhoutuonuo Kruse, minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture, while the closing ceremony would be attended by Dzüvi-u Zhünyü, president of Western Angami ‘D’ Public Organisation and former KYO president.
As a tribute to the landmark occasion, the jubilee theme song “A Kekhrie Kiruphera,” composed by Kedovitha Hesielie, was recently launched. Additionally, a traditional seating area known as ‘Badze’ was inaugurated.
