KV school inaugurated in Lumami

Dimapur, April 25 (EMN): Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Nagaland University (NU), Lumami, was inaugurated at Lumami headquarters on April 24 by Prof. NS Jamir, NU Vice Chancellor In-Charge, in the presence of Prof. T Lanusosang, Registrar NU; Prof. MK Sinha, Finance Officer, NU; KV teachers; University officials, parents and students.
The programme was chaired by Peter Ki, PRO, NU, while the invocation was led by Metsizolie Medoze, Assistant Registrar, NU. The welcome address was delivered by Mochahari, Principal In-Charge, KV. Besides welcoming the gathering, he outlined the salient features of the KV system of education.
Speech on behalf of the parents was delivered by Albert Khizho, Deputy Registrar, NU, who said staff members will now be able to dedicate themselves more to the cause of the University since the education needs of their wards are taken care of.
Prof. MK Sinha, Finance Officer, NU, in his speech, has termed as a historical day as the long-awaited desire of the University has been fulfilled. Quoting the proverb ‘Child is the father of man,’ he said the quality education provided to them will make them grow up and be responsible for the development of the country.
Prof. T Lanusosang, Registrar, NU, in his speech, said it was a ground-breaking day for Nagaland University in general and for Lumami in particular. He appreciated all University faculty members, staff of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development for the setting up KV in the university. He specifically mentioned the numerous preparatory visits of the Deputy Commissioner, KVS, Tinsukia Regional Office, to Lumami. He quoted APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India, in the context of the setting up of KV in Lumami saying “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.” He assured all possible help to the KV staff for the smooth functioning of the school.
Prof. NS Jamir, Vice-Chancellor, NU, thanked everyone involved in setting up of KV. He labelled Lumami as a centre of education and hoped that KV becomes one of the best schools in the country.
The programme came to a close with the vote of thanks delivered by Mohan Singh, teacher, KV. The groundwork for the setting up of KV was carried out by the ‘NU School Management Committee’ with Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon as the convener along with other members including Dr. Upasana Bora Sinha, Dr. Wangshimenla Jamir, Ms Monalisa Tase, Otova Swu, Yanrenthung Ezung, Nosekhol Albert Khizho, Dr. Anthony Richa, Dr. Tovishe Phucho, Metsizolie Medoze, Ms Bendanginla Jamir, and Peter Ki as member secretary.
