KOHIMA — The Kuzhami Union Kohima (KUK) on April 27 celebrated Tsükhenyie festival-cum-8th general session at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Speaking on the occasion, the special guest and MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero challenged the Kuzhami community to have better understanding and maintain the spirit of oneness. He also called upon the people to reason together and forged peaceful co-existence.
Sharing greetings, Veyielo Doulo, director of Tourism department, urged the Kuzhami community to take new venture through Tsükhenyie and wished them successful journey in life. He also called upon the people to uphold the principle of unity and integrity.
The KUK president, Liengute Doulo, delivered the welcome address, while Neilhipe Mero, convenor of nomination committee, announced the new team of KUK office bearers for the tenure 2024-2026 and Rev. Khrotso Mero, former executive secretary Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), administered the act of blessings.
The new team of KUK would be led by Isaac Losou as the president.
The programme was chaired by Isaac Losou, while KUK finance secretary, Weprepe Mero, delivered the vote of thanks.
The festival was also marked by tug-of-war and Tsükhenyie feast.
