KSA condemns attack on villages at border areas
DIPHU — The Karbi Students Association (KSA) of Jameson Timung faction condemned August 24 incident where miscreants allegedly from Meghalaya entered bordering areas of West Karbi Anglong and set ablaze two Karbi houses at Tapat village.
Informing media persons at the Autonomous State Demand Committee, Central Committee office in Diphu on Friday, the vice president, Moniram Teron said miscreants from Meghalaya entered West Karbi Anglong on Aug. 24 at Tapat village and set ablaze two Karbi houses creating border tensions.
Recalling past incidents, Teron said such cases have occurred in the recent past creating border tensions among villagers. On April 17, 2023 miscreants destroyed the entry tax gate set up by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.
On May 11, 2023 some miscreants came to Tado village in Khanduli and attacked Albertson Timung and villagers. On the same day petrol bombs were hurled at Karbi House in Shillong. On May 13, 2023 miscreants from Meghalaya burnt one house at Ningkreng village.
The KSA condemned those miscreants creating trouble and disharmony in bordering areas and appealed to the government of Assam to deploy sufficient security personnel in bordering areas. KSA said the people are being attacked regularly because of lack of security
