KPC officials hold fellowship with TB patients
DIMAPUR — As part of the 78th Indian Independence Day, members of the Kohima Press Club (KPC) visited the District TB Hospital in Khuzama on August 15 and held fellowship with the inmates.
An update from KPC stated that the members held a brief interaction with the patients and handed over several essential items.
Speaking at the programme, KPC general secretary, Vishü Rita Krocha, has described it ‘privileged’ for the members to participate in humanitarian service despite enormous responsibilities bestowed upon the journalists throughout the year.
She recalled that KPC members visited the same institution in the year 2018 and further extended prayers and best wishes for health and recovery to the patients on behalf of KPC.
Senior journalist and KPC member, H Chishi, encouraged the patients by saying that TB was earlier viewed as a much dreaded disease but with advancement in medicine, the mindset has changed over the course of time.
He urged them to take their medication on time and follow the doctors’ advice with discipline for their quick recovery.
Earlier, the medical officer, Dr. Kekhrievor Suohu, also gave a brief highlight of the institution.
It mentioned that the hospital currently has 7 patients including one from Burma.
