The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has issued a notice to the public and traders informing that Import Coupons are available to every genuine trade license holders. The KMC issued a notice on Monday, November 30, stating the information.
However, the establishment has warned against selling the coupons at “inflated trades” stating that it was unauthorized and illegal. Such activities have directly led to rise in prices of essential commodities in the town,” the KMC stated in the notice appended by its administrator Kovu Meyase.
Traders are reminded to procure the Import Coupons directly from the KMC’s office for importing goods and commodities into Kohima town.
“Procurement of Coupons from this office and subsequent sale of such Coupons at inflated trades is unauthorized and illegal. Such activities have directly led to rise in prices of essential commodities in the town,” the KMC’s administrator stated.
“All, particularly traders, are therefore directed to desist from such activities. Failing which, needful action as deemed appropriate will be taken against such illegal activities.”
