Kohima Super Cup: New Market FC, G-Sports FC through to quarter-final

Kohima, May 21 (EMN): New Market FC and G-Sports FC advanced to the quarter-final round after defeating their respective opponents in the first and second quarter-final matches of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on Saturday.
The first match was played between New Market FC and Hurricane Boys Phesama amid the dense mist, compelling the match to be halted for at least 20 minutes.
The match started on a positive note for Hurricane Boys Phesama as Ruvise fired an early goal eight minutes into the match. But the goal pressed New Market FC into action and exactly eight minutes later, Letkhokai Kuki, scored an equaliser in the 16th minute, while Visalie Mezhü added another one in the 33rd minute.
The final goal for New Market FC from the boots of Nyithong Magh in the 42nd minute secured the match for the team with a 3-1 score line.
Meanwhile, G-Sports FC thumped Sechü FC Academy in the second quarter-final match 7-0.
For G-Sports FC, Ratobe Poireng and Yhunshalo Kemp scored a brace each, taking the score to four by the 74th minute. In between, Kekhrieletuo Tsira scored in the 69th minute. Asito Krose and Neikethozo Yhome also scored a goal each in the 77th and 84th minute for the team.
Quarter-final matches on Monday (May 23)
Barak FC will take on A Yhome FC in the first quarter-final match of the day at 11:30 am , while Magdaline Coaching FC will go against Aphuyemi FC at 1:30 pm in the last match.
