Kohima Super Cup: Barak FC, A Yhome FC enter semi-final

Kohima, May 27 (EMN): Barak FC and A Yhome FC entered the semi-final of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup on Friday. Barak FC’s win was decided by goal difference (GD) as their match ended in a goalless draw, while A Yhome FC won by one goal.
Barak FC and Aphuyemi FC opened the match for Pool-B. Despite attempts made by both the teams, no team could score any goal ending the match in a goalless draw.
With an added advantage of +3 GD to their credit, Barak FC advanced to the semi-final, while Aphuyemi FC was relegated to the semi berth with +1 GD.
It was another competitive match between A Yhome FC and Magdaline FC in the second match. As the match started, Magdaline FC took the lead in the first half 1-0, netted by Tianungsang in the 15th minute. Later, Nosal Pucho scored another goal for the team in the 79th minute.
Not long after the start of the first half, A Yhome FC came from behind to knock Magdaline FC out of the tournament 3-2. A hat-trick from striker Punuru Nienu took A Yhome FC through to the semi-final. He scored all three goals in less than 35 minutes at the 49th, 59th and 72nd minute.
Fixture for semi-finals
On May 28 (Saturday) G-Sports FC will take on Barak FC at 2:30 pm, while on May 29 (Sunday) A Yhome FC will play against New Market FC at 1:30 pm.
3rd Xavier Rutsa Memorial Trophy on May 29
Kohima Town Club (KTC), organisers of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup 2022, and Kohima Press Club (KPC) will be co-organising the 3rd Xavier Rutsa Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium, Kohima (4 pm) on May 29 (Sunday).
The friendly football match between the two clubs is organised as a tribute to late Xavier Rutsa, who was one of the founding members of both the clubs.
All the members of KPC are requested to attend and participate in the event.
