Kohima students take win for grand Spelling Bee face-off

KOHIMA, JULY 25
Charity School Kohima organized the spelling competition for class-VIII to class-X students. The grand finale was conducted on Saturday, July 25, in the school’s premises in Kohima town.
Out of 15 finalists who competed in the day’s competition, AD Rayza of class-IX emerged the winner. Kevibeituo, also of class-IX bagged the first runner-up prize while Namdiheing Meru, also of class-IX, was eliminated from the top three spot.89 students participated in the competition but most were eliminated during the rounds held earlier.
The top two winners will represent Charity school in the forthcoming Nagaland Spelling Bee Competition, which is scheduled to be conducted from September 24 and till the 25th. The event is being organized by the Foundation Club of Kohima.
The prize money for the Nagaland Spelling Bee Competition is Rs 60,000 for the winner, while the second, third and fourth position will receive Rs. 40,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000, in that order. The losing quarterfinalists will also be given Rs 5,000 each.
