Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): Kohima Police apprehended a “habitual highway robber and a self-style tax collector” for various outfits after the accused reportedly kidnapped a truck driver near Peducha bridge on December 30, 2022.
According to an update from Kohima Police, the accused has been identified as one Nawaz Khan (27) and resident of House No. 58, Ward-1, AH Road, Khermahal, Dimapur.
It stated that on receiving information about abduction of the truck driver, Kohima Police activated the various police teams and a special team of Kohima Police led by SDPO (N), Kohima, rushed down to Dimapur after zeroing in on the suspect.
It added that the vehicle of the suspect was intercepted at Nepali Bosti junction, Dimapur, after a hot pursuit. The accused person has been brought to Sechu (Zubza) Police Station for further legal actions, the update stated.
