Kohima Police issues traffic regulations for 73rd Republic Day celebration

Dimapur, Jan. 24 (EMN): In view of the 73rd Republic Day celebration on Wednesday at Secretariat Plaza in Kohima, the Kohima Police has issued traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.

A press release from the office of the superintendent of police stated that it expected co-operation from the public; however, the defaulting vehicles will be towed away by the police and the charges (expenses) will be borne by the owners of vehicles.

Traffic regulations for Republic Day

  • Only vehicles with Car Pass ‘A’ (Red) and Car Pass ‘B’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with Car Pass ‘C’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the main gate and shall be parked outside the Secretariat Complex.
  • Vehicles without car passes will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat Complex and shall be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road.
  • No vehicles, including two wheelers, will be allowed to park by the roadside on January 26 from 6 am onwards at the following routes till the programme is over: from Raj Bhavan – TCP Gate – Razhu Point – High School – New Secretariat Complex; and New CM official Residence, Phezoucha to New Secretariat Complex.
  • Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town till the Republic Day programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7 am.
