Kohima Police issues traffic regulation for assembly session

Dimapur, Feb. 10 (EMN): In view of the ensuing 7th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly beginning from February 12, the Kohima police has issued traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.

An update from the PRO of Kohima DEF stated that only vehicles bearing pass with letter ‘X’ (black letter with yellow background for legislators), ‘Y’ (white letter with green background for AHOD/ HOD), ‘Assembly logo’ (red background for Assembly staff), ‘LH’ (blue letter with white background for police personnel and PS/PA), ‘O’ (red letter with blue background for IPR/ media and other departments, and ‘On assembly duty’ (red letter with white background for staff bus/ pool and dak vehicles) would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat.

It stated that no vehicle would be allowed parking on the roadside from 6 am onwards during the assembly sessions at the following routes from BSNL telephone exchange till Classic Island, from Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island, from Classic Island to Assembly Secretariat via High School, and from New CM official residence, Phezoucha, to Assembly Secretariat.

It also stated that heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during the Assembly session from 6 am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am during Assembly session. It further stated that heavy vehicles would not be allowed parking along ‘D’ Block road.

While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the police informed that defaulting vehicles would be towed away for which the charges would be borne by the vehicle owners.
