Kohima police issue traffic advisory over new Nagaland govt. swearing-in ceremony

DIMAPUR — In view of the swearing-in ceremony to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima on Tuesday, March 7, Kohima police have issued traffic advisory in the state capital for the day.

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance will form the next government in Nagaland, for which swearing-in ceremony will be held on Tuesday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other dignitaries.

Police traffic advisory for Kohima

  • The stretches of road from Classic Island to Phoolbari via TCP Gate and Phoolbari to 1st Assam Rifles Main Gate via Ao Church have been declared as “No parking zones”. All obstructing vehicles will be towed as per the provisions of Section 201 MV Act, and towing charges shall be recovered from the vehicle owner, it warned.
  • All down-vehicle traffic from PHQ Junction area will be diverted to Lady Miles Road via Classic Island.
  • All up-vehicle traffic from High School junction/Bayavu will be diverted to Kohimas Hospital-Naga Bazar Road-NHAK Junction via Census Point.
  • All vehicles proceeding towards Razhü Point from North PS junction area will be diverted to New Market-Naga Bazaar Road.
  •  Vehicular traffic will be restricted at Razhü Point to TCP Gate via D block and TCP Gate to PHQ point via NH-2 (SKV petrol pump/Classic Island) starting from 12.50 pm on Tuesday.

In this regard, Kohima police appealed to all the citizens to co-operate during the traffic regulation enforcement period.
