[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board was conducted on March 16 in Kohima town. The new Deputy Commissioner of Kohima district Rovilatuo Mor chaired the meeting.
During the meeting the DPO of the Land Resource department, Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha presented an overview of departmental activities where he highlighted on the Integrated Watershed Management Programme.The program is a flagship programme undertaken by the department in three phases: Preparatory phase, work phase and consolidation phase. He also elaborated about the formation of the watershed committee, Entry Point Activity, livelihood and micro-enterprise, and formation of self help groups and user-groups.Dr. Tseikha also gave an appraisal about what was dubbed the ‘Near Real Time Online Monitoring System’ being implemented in Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar with the web server being hosted by the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department.
Seeing the need to take more action to maintaining the roads in the state’s capital, the deputy commissioner has suggested formation of a sub-committee on cleanliness and sought for active cooperation from all the departments.
