Kohima Municipal Council directs shops to light up respective establishments at night

Dimapur, Nov. 2 (EMN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all shops and business establishments under KMC jurisdiction to light up their respective shops and business establishments at night.

“Many neon lights put on sign board for illuminating the streets at night are not functioning and while such lightings add a semblance of beauty and serenity to the city, it is also pertinent to realise that it adds to the security of the citizens and also acts as a deterrent for illegal activities and antisocial elements,” KMC stated in a press update on Monday.

Failure to comply the the directives would invite penalties as deemed fit and appropriate, it added.
