Kohima forms committee to frame district vision 2030

Dimapur, June 19:Pertaining to the ambitious Vision 2030 of the State government, Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has constituted a committee to frame the district vision for submission with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Lithrongla Tongpi as convenor along with DFO (Forest) Sidramappa and the DIC General Manager A Temjen Jamir as members.
The committee to frame the district vision was constituted during its monthly meeting on June 15 at DPDB’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor.
Addressing the members on Vision 2030 of the State government, the DC apprised them on the guidelines and suggested nature of submission while compiling the district vision. He also entrusted all members to come up with write-ups pertaining to their department’s vision and submit within June 25.
Also observing that the activities carried out by the Village Adoption Committee under Kohima DPDB should be reflected to the other districts, the house decided to project the system to the government for adoption. For this purpose, a committee was constituted with SDO (Sardar) as convenor and ADC (Planning), Ketoho Luho, and the EE Irrigation, Er. Thepfusalie Guozi, as members.The DC, who is also chairman of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Governing Board, released the ATMA News Bulletin volume-5 (2014-15). While releasing the News Bulletin, District Agriculture Officer & PD (ATMA), Vizonyü Liezie, said that ATMA Kohima is a forum of Agri & Allied Sector involving in agriculture extension activities to motivate and encourage farmers to take up new challenges. He said ATMA News Bulletin was to showcase the success story of the ATMA Kohima and hoped that it would serve a positive impact to the readers.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, DFO (Forest) & Member Secretary of the Tree Plantation Committee, Sidramappa, presented report on the successful conduct of the tree plantation cum social work held on June 4. He informed that altogether 150 Cryptomeria Japonica tree saplings were planted and also carried out grass clearance around the surviving trees, bringing to a total number of 250 trees including from the earlier plantation drive.
Meanwhile, the DC pointed out that some more resources would be required for further follow up action for which he reminded the DPDB members, who were yet to contribute Rs 1000, to submit it to the Committee for further action. He also informed that the residence of the Secretariat area would be entrusted for proper fencing and maintenance of the trees.
On the agenda of yearlong activities status report, all the six Adoptions Committees headed by the district administrators gave their reports on the progress of the activities.
On the DPR submitted by EE Chiephobozou on Peducha to Tsiesema and NH-02 to Bokajan road via Zhadima, the house decided to recommend and forward it to the concerned department, accepting the importance of the road as the alternative road for Kohima district. The house also deliberated on some present landslide occurrences at different locations where spot inspection would be carried for further necessary action.
On grand-in-aid and opening of new school, the house decided to approve Don Bosco School, Chiechama, for opening of new school and Grand-in-Aid for Bethel School which was inspected by SDEO Chiephobozou.
The departmental activities were presented by the Principal of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, and DVBO Kohima on National Vector Borne Disease.

DDMA Kohima proposes ward committee

Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has proposed creation of Ward Disaster Management Committee (WDMC) as first respondent after preparing the structure and meeting with the wards and colony authorities. The committee was necessitated as disasters often occur more in urban area.
The proposal to this effect was taken in its quarterly meeting at DPDB’s conference hall on June 15 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor.
ADC and Chief Executive Officer DDMA, Lithrongla Tongpi, while highlighting the minutes of the last meeting, informed that the DDMA Cell in the DC’s office has been made fully functional. She reminded the stakeholder departments to submit the India Disaster Resources Network (IDRN) data in order to be updated with correct information in the event of any disaster. She also highlighted on the agenda of Incident Response System (IRS) and informed the members to go through the IRS Pocket Guide Book issued by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority for further information.
The house decided to update the IDRN data every quarterly by every members of the DDMA.
In regard to communication system proposal for better co-ordination, District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Thejangulie Zao, informed that a proposal has been submitted to the NSDMA for necessary action. On agenda for proper verification of SDRF (landslide/ storms/ fire/ crop damage etc), Thejangulie informed that the old format has been phased out and submitted new format for approval. He said once the new format is approved, DDMA would hold meeting with all the line departments.
The house also decided to bring out some guidelines for maintaining dedicated Sim Card number by the members in case of transfer to other designated station.
Further, the house approved the proposal for procurement of bamboo and tarpaulin by observing the requirements of such materials to keep in stock for emergency and preventive measures.
