Kohima district open volleyball tournament final today

Kohima, Nov. 23 (EMN): Kiruphema Youth Organisation, Kenuozou Youth Organisation, Neichazou Volleyball Club, Mima and defending champions Phesama Youth Organization booked their semi-final berth in men’s category of the ongoing 6th Kohima district open volleyball tournament at the Kohima local ground on Fri. Nov. 23.

The tournament is being organized by Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA), while the organising committee has informed that the finals for both men and women will take place on Sat. Nov. 24 at 1 pm.

In the men’s quarter-final match, Kiruphema Youth Organisation overpowered Khwiino Spikers, Khonoma via 3-2 sets while Kenuozou Youth Organisation registered a thumping win over Unified Sporting Club, Kiruphema by three straight set.

Neichazou Volleyball Club, Mima defeated last year’s runners-up Zenith Club, Kezo Town by 3-1 set, while defending champions Phesama Youth Organisation booked their semi-final berth after defeating Nerhema Youth Organisation by 3-1 set in the quarter-final round.

Up next, Phesama Youth Organisation will take on Kenuozou Youth Organisation in the first semi-final match at 9 am and Kiruphema Youth Organisation will face Neichazou Volleyball Club in the second finals on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in women’s category, the league matches are still going on, the 9th and 10th league match will start from 9 am onwards. It will be followed by final match later in the day.

Col. Debraj Bhattacharya, commandant 3rd Assam Rifles will attend the closing ceremony as the special guest at 1 pm, the organisers informed.
