Kohima College and YouthNet sign MoU to ‘link education to employment’

Kohima July 24 EMN: A local capacity building organisation and a college in Kohima have agreed to collaborate to ‘link education to employment.’
Information to the local media from sources on Monday informed that YouthNet, and Kohima College signed a memorandum of understanding to meet said objective.
The aim of the memorandum, the updates stated, is to give the college students “real work experience while they are in their final year of college.”

The principal of Kohima College Dr. Watijungshi Jamir was stated to have said that the memorandum was a “landmark move as students from Kohima College would get real life work experience while they are still in college.”
Further, Razuo Luho, stated to be the chief of the Nagaland Job Centre, said that the centre was connected with a network of over 150 clients. ‘They would facilitate the students to get real life experience while they are pursue their education,’ the updates stated.
“This would also get them ready for employment when they graduate. Lezo Putsure, Director YouthNet said, we need to keep our young people busy in doing productive things.”
Each year government jobs in the state are becoming scarce. On the brighter hand, the private sector is growing, the updates said.
According to the organisers, Nagaland will see ‘more entrepreneurs’ and private players come in. That is when ‘we need to get our young people with the right skills. Linking education to employment is a starting tool to bridge the gap, the updates stated.
