Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): Kiphire District Task Force for Covid-19 held a meeting on May 15 at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall and deliberated on standard operating procedure (SOP) for stranded people returning to the district from outside the state.
During the meeting, it was decided that deputy commissioner of the district will be the nodal officer for receiving stranded persons.
It also resolved that citizens coming from”Red zone” will be sent to helipad, a designated screening centre with police and administration escort. After proper screening, persons with symptom will be sent to Covid-19 hospital for sample test, and then will admit to isolation ward till further direction based on the lab report.
For asymptomatic cases, a person will be put under stringent facility quarantine for a fortnight, followed by another 14 days of home quarantining under surveillance.
Conveyance of stranded person to Seyochung and Pungro will be taken care of by the district administration while a medical screening will be done prior to their departure from Kiphire town.
For persons returning from Green and Orange zones, it was decided that the same procedure will be followed for symptomatic person i.e., a case will be examined and sent to Covid-19 hospital, where sample test will be done and put in the isolation till further advisory
Asymptomatic person from the two zones will be home quarantined for a fortnight under surveillance.
Conveyance of the stranded persons to Seyochung and Pungro will be facilitated by district administration.
The DC stated that two kinds of seals with indelible ink will be utilised for people who will require to be home quarantined. These seals will be stamped at the back of the palm and thumb of the left hand. Essential items received from the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority will provided for persons at government facilitated quarantine.
Medical attendants, care-taker and people placed under examination will be advised to observe proper sanitation measures during the period of their stay in the quarantine. Rudimentary training for attendants will be imparted by the medical department.
Health department will provide PPE to the attendants of quarantine centres and those under quarantine will be supervised by medical experts on daily routine. Apart from their routine, doctors will be available to attend emergency cases.
Meanwhile, the Bhandari sub-division task force on Saturday held a review meeting at the town hall on accommodation and preparedness to receive the returnees to the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tiameren Chang urged the members to play the role of management of quarantine centres.
Bhandari sub division has set up four quarantine centres at DBHS, 7th NAP unit school, and one each at Baghty and Merapani. The district task force has constituted various committees to ensure smooth functioning of the quarantine centres.
Medical Officer Dr. Lawrence spoke on Covid-19 safety and preventive measures while Extra Assistant Commissioner Selemla S Sangtam gave a brief report on the preparedness of quarantine centres.
