Kikheto interacts with doctors and nurses of NHAK

Commissioner and Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Y Kikheto Sema, paid an informal visit to Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), on Thursday.

Kikheto inspected the department of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the hub of the 10-bedded ICU, which was recently inaugurated by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, a DIPR report stated.

He interacted with the doctors and nurses who were stationed there and also held a video conference with the medical professionals from other districts through the hub of 10-bedded ICU.

The commissioner & secretary listened to the feedback provided by the beneficiaries of the facility and also the technical challenges that the teams in the districts faced, especially the internet connection in far-flung locations.

He assured the team of his commitment and cooperation to make the project a success so that every sick patient in the state gets the maximum benefit from the project.

Kikheto also talked on how technology has transformed healthcare service delivery. People from other districts no longer have to rush to Dimapur and Kohima for admission to ICU, he said.

He further informed that the department has tied up with HDFC Bank for setting up of 10-bedded ICUs in the four newly created districts.

The Commissioner & Secretary was accompanied by secretary, Finance & Labour, Employment and Skill Development, Sushil Kumar Patel; principal director, School Education & CEO, State Health Authority, K Thavaseelan; principal director, directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Temjentsungla, and other medical and technical professionals.

Meanwhile, the managing director and her team at NHAK extended their appreciation to the commissioner & secretary for showing keen interest in the welfare of the patients as well as the wellbeing of the hospital.
