Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Kigwema Students’ Union (KSU) organised a two-day career guidance programme for students of Class 10 and 12. Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Vimezo Kere, President, Kigwema Gazetted Officers Krotho, encouraged the students to make the optimum use of time and decide from an early age about the career path they want to pursue in life.

An update stated that the resource person of the session, Angel Ngullie, counseling psychologist and career analyst, engaged the students in interactive sessions and hands on knowledge about identifying their interest and skill enhancement through various means, which can later on in life become their career. She also trained the students to choose fields in which they are good at, and the manner in which to test whether the field they have chosen is the right field for them.

The two-day event was a systematic exercise to test the core competencies of the students and to engage in interaction with their friends, seniors, elders, parents and mentors when it comes to deciding their career path.

It was also a hands-on exercise to use and access technology to enhance their knowledge base, it said. The importance of internship and the manner in which to go about doing internship was also discussed.

Over one hundred students registered for the two-day event, which was divided into four sessions.
