Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): The 4th edition of the Kholar festival was held on December 19, organised by the Kiphire district administration and nongovernmental organisations of Pungro sub-division in collaboration with the Development of Underdeveloped Areas, NEIDA, and governmental departments on the theme “Celebrating our unity” at Pungro public ground in Pungro.
At the programme, the additional deputy commissioner and special guest, Abhinav Shivam, emphasised on the nutritional value of kholar. He called upon the farmers and villagers to make agriculture a priority and to collaborate to market the products.
Folk song competition, kholar eating competition, top spinning, khuyie and arrow shooting competition were the other highlights of the day.
The special guest also inaugurated 45 exhibition stalls put up from neighbouring villages.
