Kezoma village organises thanksgiving programme

Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Consequent upon receiving the National Panchayat Award (Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar), Kezoma Village Council (KVC) in Kohima district organised a thanksgiving programme on September 30 in its panchayat hall.

Speaking at the programme, the block development officer (BDO) and special guest, Khovi Thaprü, lauded the efforts of Kezoma village council and the villagers for actively coordinating with the department and timely utilisation of the funds towards implementation of various projects.

While handing over the award to the village council, Khovi exhorted the gathering to continue the good work and make judicious use of the award for the welfare of the village in general, an update from the village council stated.

The special guest also unveiled a monolith erected in commemoration of receiving the award, while the dedicatory prayer was said by the pastor of CRC Kezoma, Khwecho Zhale.  

It mentioned that Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP) is given to best performing panchayats (district, intermediate and gram panchayat) across the states/ UTs in recognition of the good work towards improving delivery of services and public goods.

Meanwhile, the council conveyed its sincere appreciation to the department of Rural Department and BDO Jakhama, Khovi Thaprü, and his staff for their tireless effort for the development of the village and also nominating the village for the prestigious National Award 2020.

The programme chaired by Kezoma village council chairman, Zadekhweto Zecho.
