KCCI cautions vendors against overcharging at Night Carnival
DIMAPUR — The Kohima Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is back with the 2023 edition of the popular Hornbill Night Carnival from December 1 to 10 in Kohima main town.
The KCCI stated in a press release that the carnival organising committee has placed a strong emphasis on pricing for this edition and that rates and price regulation have been put in place to discourage exorbitant charges on food and beverages, gaming, and other items for sale.
The organising committee also cautioned all vendors not to charge exorbitant prices, as doing so would result in a monetary fine and the cancellation of the trading licence.
It maintained that no service or item on offer within the carnival should exceed the available regular market price in order to ensure that the carnival is economically friendly to the revellers and to create a win-win situation for all stakeholders in the long run, as well as to promote the carnival market as a healthy and vibrant precursor to the festive season.
The KCCI has also invited all foreign and local tourists, individuals, groups, and families to come and see what the Hornbill Night Carnival has to offer and to be a part of the carnival.
