KASA drub Jirpo Chingri FC 4-0 to lift GDSA trophy

Karbi Anglong Sports Association (Senior) Football Coaching Centre (KASA – Senior FCC) drubbed Jirpo Chingri FC 4-0 to lift the Greater Diphu Sports Association (GDSA) Football League Championship B- Division, in the final match played at KASA stadium on Tuesday.

KASA FCC boys drew first blood in 15th minute of the first half through Pritom Dera assisted by Borish Engjai. Jirpo Chingri players failed to take control of the ball as the KASA FCC players outsmarted them in almost all departments. In the second half, Jirpo Chingri boys tried their best to even the score but their efforts were in vain as Pritom Dera scored the second goal for his team through an assist from Songja Taro midway in the second half.

The fate of Jirpo Chingri boys were more or less sealed as Pritom scored his hat trick in the 15 minutes later.

KASA FCC scored their final fourth goal through the boots of Marcus with an assist from Manuj Ronghang.

Four semi-finalist teams have been promoted to A-Division. They are KASA (Senior) FCC, Jirpo Chingri FC, The Pilgrim FA and Waithai FC.

The champion team KASA (Senior) FCC received trophy and cash prize from president, GDSA and donor of the tournament, Gautam Terang and general secretary, KASA, Pankaj Teron. The runners-up team Jirpo Chingri also received cash prize and trophy from the family members of Khorsing Terang, donor for the runners up trophy.

In the individual categories, the best goalkeeper was awarded to Nongkulat Engti of KASA (Senior) FCC, while the promising player of the league went to Malongkiri Tisso of Pilgrim FC, KASA FCC Songja Teron bagged the highest scorer title and player of the match was awarded to Pritom Dera.

Karbi United FC won the best discipline award.

The tournament is played in memory of Nirola Tissopi and the trophy donated by president, GDSA, Gautam Terang.
