Karbi Anglong to face Dibrugarh in Khel Maharan Football Tournament final

DIPHU — The Under-19 Girls Khel Maharan State Level Football Tournament final match between Karbi Anglong and Dibrugarh will be played at the Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) stadium on Friday.

Karbi Anglong beat Golaghat 2-0 in the second semifinal game played here at KASA stadium, on Thursday.

In the 60-minute match, both teams displayed an entertaining game played under floodlights. In the first half, neither side managed to break the deadlock, resulting in a scoreline of 0-0.

Resuming in the second half, both teams displayed a strong attack. It was the Karbi Anglong girls who gained the upper hand when, in the 33rd minute, Serbirika Terangpi, assisted by Sari Falhrein, opened the scoring for her team. The visitors, Golaghat, made several attempts to equalise the score, but their chances were thwarted.

Karbi Anglong sealed the fate of the visitors when Janali Basumatary, in the 59th minute, landed a corner shot that deflected off Jirmili Kramsapi’s leg, who then pushed the ball into the net.

The first semifinal match was played between Dibrugarh and Kamrup Metro, with Dibrugarh emerging victorious with a score of 3-0.
