Diphu, March 29 (EMN): Eminent writer from Karbi Anglong, Dhaneswar Engti received the prestigious Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind Shri at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 28. The award is in recognition of his distinguished service in the field of literature and education.

Engti is the retired Joint Secretary of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the popular Karbi literary magazine ‘Monjir’ in 1976 and also founder and editor of the Karbi literary magazine ‘Samphri’ in 1984.

Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, (KAAC), Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang took to Facebook and congratulate him: “Proud Moment: I congratulate Sri Dhaneswar Engti, retired Joint Secretary, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, who is conferred with the Padma Shri Award for his contribution in the field of Literature and Education. Happy to share that an Award has been conferred to him by Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.

In the August presence of Shri Narendra Modi ji, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Amit Shah ji, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, other dignitaries.”
