Diphu, April 5 (EMN): All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) on Tuesday criticised Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang for disrupted APHLC meetings in his Bithung Rengthama Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituency in West Karbi Anglong by his party workers and termed him a ‘terrorist.’
In a press conference held at District Press Club of Karbi Anglong on Tuesday, Spokesperson, APHLC, Angtong Engti Kathar said, “It is not only one to two occasions, but 11 times the party workers of CEM Tuliram Ronghang used to disrupt and terrorise APHLC meetings in his Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency. CEM said the nature of the people of Bithung is rough. I myself cannot control them. He is taking the style of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of gunda raj. We say that CEM is a terrorist.”
The spokesperson mentioned that on April 2 in a meeting at Ingchin Langso, a former APHLC worker who recently joined BJP had taken the lead to disrupt the APHLC meeting.
Engti also termed the CEM as a ‘coward’.
“All development schemes are implemented in Bithung Rengthama and the rest of 25 MAC constituencies are left with nothing. If (he) contests elections in a fair and peaceful manner without money power then he is not going to win. He has no courage to contest from Lumbajong or from other constituencies as there is no sign of development,” the APHLC spokesperson said.
Engti also said as CEM is not worthy to receive the honorary doctorate degree.
It may be mentioned that in November last, the CEM was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree for peace and education by Bangalore-based Bharat Virtual University.
“You are doing gunda raj and terrorising people and by your character you are not worthy to receive the honorary doctorate degree. You should return your doctorate degree,” Engti demanded.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Karbi Anglong on April 28, the APHLC spokesperson said that whenever any BJP leader from either Centre or State comes, ‘there is no gain for the people of Karbi Anglong’.
“When Union Home Minister Amit Shah came to Dengaon last year it was arranged on an open paddy field. After the meeting the paddy field was polluted with empty water bottles, polythene, empty food packets and other garbage. It has hampered the soil and was unfit for cultivation. There was no compensation for it. Innocent lives have to be lost. His visit was a loss for the people of Karbi Anglong by giving away 10 seats in the open for category in the signing of MoS by the six armed organisations with the Central government,” Kathar alleged.
