Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): An organisation representing the residents of Kandi in Tseminyu division has warned of “a ban on National Highway 2” if the state government fails to act on an ultimatum submitted earlier this month.
The Kandi Public Union issued a press statement on Monday reminding the state government that it has submitted a number of representations concerning the construction of “BDO office building at Chunlikha which was inaugurated on 29.2.2012”.
Work order for the project was issued to the firm ‘JK & Sons Constructions’ on November 11, 2016, it informed. “But no action was taken up as requested so the Kandi Public Union submitted an ultimatum to the government of Nagaland on 6.10.2017 to direct the contractors to start the construction within 15 days at the inauguration site.
“Till date, there is no sign of construction. So the Kandi Public Union is compelled to impose a ban on National Highway 2 as and when the date line expires. The Kandi Public Union will not be held responsible even if it creates inconvenience to the public in general,” the statement read.
