Diphu, Nov.6 (EMN): With nine days left for the celebration of Karbi Anglong Day on November 16 and 17, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) is relentlessly working for success of the event.
On Sunday, a review meeting was held at Karbi Hemtun, Taralangso, with all departmental heads.
Emerging from the review meeting, chief executive member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, informed that all CEMs of autonomous councils of Northeast and all former CEMs, EMs, MACs, DCs and SPs who served in Karbi Anglong district, will be invited.
Apart from this, a condolence meeting will be held to honour all the founding members of Karbi Anglong district, the then Mikir Hills.
Ronghang also disclosed that Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will grace the programme as chief guest while Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphu Rio will be guests of honour.
Meanwhile, KAAC has issued a notice to informing all educational institutions falling under Diphu Municipal Board and Greater Diphu town area to remain close on November 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12, in view of the alarming surge of dengue cases.
