KAAC issues appointment letter to 133 teachers
Education department under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has distributed appointment letters to 133 TET passed candidates as assistant teachers for lower primary schools in both Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong during a programme held in the conference hall of the new KAAC Secretariat building on Thursday.
Distributing the appointment letters, KAAC chief executive member (CEM), Tuliram Ronghang, said teachers have great responsibilities in laying good foundation for children at the lower primary level to get a good result in matriculation examinations.
“In Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong the results in higher secondary was fairly good but the result of matric is very poor. To improve the results in matric, teachers have great responsibilities in laying a good foundation at lower primary level,” the CEM said.
Tuliram informed that there was no partiality adding that the appointments were purely made on a merit basis. Being a Sixth Schedule district, he said maximum appointments were given to Scheduled Tribes candidates. He further mentioned that there are 447 vacancies in high schools and a special TET would be conducted by KAAC to fill up those posts.
Urging the teachers to be sincere in their duties, the CEM stated that as per NCERT guidelines those teachers not going to schools would be directly terminated. As teachers receive salaries from the government, he said they should perform their duty sincerely in return.
The function was attended by MP Horensing Bey; MLAs Dorsing Ronghang, Bidyasing Engleng and Rupsing Teron including KAAC executive members and members of autonomous council (MAC).
