Junior National Boxing Championship : Supriya lone boxer from Northeast to enter finals

Imphal, Nov. 1 (EMN): Manipur’s Supriya Devi Thokchom became the lone boxer from the entire Northeast to enter the finals of the 5th Junior Girls’ National Boxing Championship 2022.
In her semi final bout which played on Tuesday evening at the Khuman Lampak boxing ring, Supriya Devi beat Arunachal Pradesh’ Tarh Paya in the 52-54 kg category competition.
In their quarter final bout on Monday, Supriya defeated Bihar’s Lucky Kumari to storm into the semi-finals.
However, Supriya’ team mate Sagar Chanu Mayengbam lost to Pari of Haryana in her semi final bout on Tuesday.
Altogether 245 boxers from 28 states are competing in the six-day national boxing event, organised by Manipur Amateur Boxing Association.
