Dimapur, Dec. 15 (EMN): The implementation support agency (ISA) of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Alongphi Welfare Society in Tuensang district conducted information, education, and communication (IEC) and water quality awareness drive from November 22 to December 14 covering a total of 23 villages under Chare block, Longkhim block, Chesore block, and Shamator block.
The activities were conducted as per the fund released from the state PHE department, informed an update from the society.
It stated that team visited all the three phase of JJM implementing villages including the post-implementation villages (JMM completed villages), implementation villages (JJM ongoing villages) and pre-implementation villages (yet to start JJM scheme). The team had facilitated on formation of gram panchayat and Watsan committee where women representatives in the villages were also encouraged to continue checking water quality through FTK and upload in the WQMIS in the village level.
ISA team also emphasised on the need to have toilets with running water in every household. The team advised the villagers to pass resolutions to totally ban single-used plastics and burning of plastics and also advised the gram panchayat to invest FFC funds in the sanitation.
