Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the Janata Dal United (JDU) informed that its party leadership was serious in finding a permanent solution to the Naga political issue at the earliest.

The Nagaland JDU made this declaration during a meeting held in the residence of its party general secretary, Kitoho S Rotokha under 5 Ghaspani II Assembly Constituency, on August 12. The programme was chaired by Khezheto Rochill.

An update from the party stated that the meeting was addressed by the state party secretary Holuvi Awomi; state general secretaries, Imsumongba Pongen and Kitoho S Rotokha.

While addressing the gathering, the leaders have emphasised on the need for a stronger secular credentials. They stated that Nitish Kumar, the chief mister of Bihar, was keen to resolve the Naga political issue at the earliest stating that he had exhibited his party sincerity both inside and outside the parliament on various occasion.

Besides, Nitish Kumar has urged upon the members to work vigorously towards achieving a common goal and to establish firm foundation in the state of Nagaland.

An update from the party stated that representatives from Kuhuboto area, Ato Area, Medziphema area and Sakipheto area led by Ijeho Zhimomi, head GB of Pherima, spoke in support of the formation of the party in the 5 Ghaspani II (mandal) assembly constituency.

Meanwhile, the party has appointed its office bearers under 5 Ghaspani-II AC for the tenure 2022-25 led by Khezheto Rochill from Lotovi village as president, Zhekiye Yeptho from Hekheshe village as vice president, Hotoshe Jimo from Nihokhu village as general secretary, Sutminlal Vaipei from Maova village as assistant general secretary, M Ato from Old Showuba Village as treasurer.

Besides, it has elected Vitoho Chishi from Luzheto village, Ashiho Achumi from Khughovi village, Kheshito Yeptho from Henivi village and Avito Chishi from Nihokhu village as advisors.
