JCC asks govt to fulfil demands

Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), one of the spearheading organisations that resisted the municipal polls earlier this year, has undertaken a number of resolutions. The JCC issued a press release on Saturday informing about a number of resolutions the group took following a meeting on July 1.
The first resolution stated in the press release: the organisation “resolved and agreed” to insist on the government to immediately transfer the deputy commissioner of Longleng district as “promised by the Cabinet sub Committee.”
Likewise, the press release stated, ‘as assured by the Cabinet Sub Committee,’ the house “unanimously decided to urge the government to immediately release the compensation to the injured person at Longleng.”
The injured persons that the JCC listed were Atachumba of Yachem village; Huktong of Kakching village; Sunglom of Hukphang village; Toshiba of Akhoya village; Longchen of Orangkon village; Bauong of Yanchen village; Pongchet of Yanchem village; Sanlom of Yachem village; and C Denngoi of Taugha P village.
Further, the note informed that the JCC has set up a “memorial construction committee” and tasked with ‘carrying out the logistics.’
The JCC has also requested tribal organisations that have not yet “submitted the opinions / proposals” for review of theNagaland Municipal Act to do so to the JCC for submission to the government on or before July 15.
