Jackie Chan becomes Singapore’s first celebrity anti-drug ambassador

Internationally renowned star Jackie Chan has hit the headlines for extending his support to anti-drug campaign, thereby becoming Singapore’s first anti-drug celebrity. Incidentally, Jackie’s son Jaycee Chan was recently in news for drug abuse.
Jaycee reportedly spent around six months in prison in China after marijuana was found at his house. According to international websites, in an interview Jackie Chan was quoted as saying that younger people “increasingly see drugs a a personal choice”, but the reality is one cannot experiment with drugs and not expect to be addicted.
The only choice is to stay away from drugs,” he added. Chan also said that youths nowadays think drugs are fun – (but) it will hurt you. Not just that, it will harm your family as well. You will be a bad influence on your friends.
Jackie was quoted as saying that he was “ashamed” and “shocked” at knowing about his son’s drug abuse incident, adding that now he shall focus more on him.
