‘Isak-led NSCN/GPRN under official ceasefire agreement with GoI’
Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): The Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) has claimed that the Isak Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN is under official ceasefire agreement with the Government of India.
“Despite unfortunate internal debacle in the NSCN set-up between Khango Konyak and Isak Sumi, it is to be noted that NSCN/GPRN led by Col (Retd) Isak Sumi and Luyanba Yimkhiung remains intact and status quo continues to be maintained in connection to ceasefire agreement with the GOI,” stated WC, NNPGs, in a press release.
It stated that having ascertained from the competent MHA, GOI sources in the know-how of the Indo Naga peace process, WC, NNPGs is constrained to put on public record the relevant fact in order to dispel rumours and propaganda being spread by anti-peace elements.
“Meantime, the status or position of Isak Sumi as the Co-Convener representing NSCN/GPRN in the WC, NNPGs is unchanged as Isak Sumi enjoys the unanimous support of all the affiliates to the NNPGs led by the Convener N. Kitovi Zhimomi and the same is reciprocated by the GOI,” the release stated.
The NNPGs also appealed to all peace-yearning Nagas to remain steadfast and continue to extended support and co-operation to the NNPGs in its pursuit for an amicable political solution with GoI at the earliest.
“This is not the time for Nagas to be swayed away by anti-peace and anti-solution elements working ceaselessly to sabotage Indo-Naga Political Solution,” it added.
