Dimapur, July 16 (EMN): The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) distributed a total of 40 oxygen concentrators received from its national headquarters as well as other items such as masks, utensils, blankets, T-shirt etc. to various districts in Nagaland.
The distribution was carried out during its exclusive meeting with the respective honourary secretaries of all the district branches in Nagaland on July 13. An update from IRCSN stated that few officials from the state branch including its chairperson Abeni TCK, and Dr. Kepelhusie Terhuja also attended the programme.
As per guidelines from the national headquarter, the district branches would utilise the oxygen concentrators in consultation with hospitals, health units and medical doctors. During the meeting, the use of oxygen concentrators was demonstrated to the participants by Dr Kepelhusie Terhuja.
The house also discussed the need to be vigilant in the event of third wave and be prepared to address two issues namely vaccine hesitancy and Covid appropriate behaviours. The members were specifically asked to address vaccine hesitancy in villages.
Besides, members have also discussed on urgent need of ambulances for Longleng, Mon, Zunheboto, Peren, and Noklak. Abeni TCK also exhorted the members.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by its general secretary, Dr. Neiphi Kire.
